7th Grade

In 7th grade, through a continued effort of learning and spiritual formation, students begin their final leg of preparing for high school. Academically challenging and spiritually sound, 7th grade at HFCA accompanies students in growing their knowledge, learning new skills and practical tools for every day life and (for our Catholic students) being formed for the completion of being fully initiated into the Catholic faith through the beginning of Confirmation preparation, which will be completed in 8th grade. In addition, 7th grade students, guided by the curriculum standards of the Diocese of Dallas Catholic Schools, arise to meet many challenges, including: 

• Presenting a critique of a literary work, film, or dramatic production, employing eye contact, speaking rate, volume, enunciation, a variety of natural gestures, and conventions of language to communicate ideas effectively
• Solve problems involving ratios, rates, and percents, including multi-step problems involving percent increase and percent decrease, and financial literacy problems
• Demonstrating how history helps us predict and plan for future events using prudence and wisdom gleaned from recognizing previous patterns of change, knowledge of past events, and a richer, more significant, view of personal experiences
